Quinta da Costeira:
The Art of Time and Light
In the world of wedding photography, there’s one ironclad rule: logistics determine the quality of your day. Quinta da Costeira is one of those venues designed to ensure your day runs smoothly, immediately eliminating the biggest source of stress at any wedding: travel and delays.
The real highlight of this property is the picturesque and charming church located right on the grounds; this isn’t just convenient, it’s a luxury that gives you the time to enjoy a cocktail with your family without having to rush around.
Sacred Light and Photography
The intimate chapel can accommodate about 150 guests and offers a truly welcoming atmosphere, however, what I love most about photographing inside is the quality of the lighting.
Unlike many dark and gloomy churches, the Quinta da Costeira church offers excellent natural light. This means I can capture your emotions during the vows in a discreet and natural way, preserving the solemnity of the moment in the photo reportage, all achieved through the natural light streaming in, a detail that enhances the quality of the final work.
The Tent
After enjoying appetizers on the expansive flower-filled lawns, we move to the main tent. If you’re looking for vibrant, well-lit photos during the meal, this is the perfect setting. The structure is entirely glass-enclosed, allowing the natural light of late afternoon to flood the room in a soft and elegant way.
“Having natural light until so late means that the details of your decor, the smiles at the tables, and the toasts take on a color and vibrancy that are impossible to replicate in a traditional indoor venue.”
And, of course, as you can see from the photos, the venue's service is exceptionally meticulous in its presentation; the tables are set with such attention to detail that it immediately enhances the look of every editorial photo.
The Gardens and the Tower
A couple's photo shoot here is like a blank canvas full of possibilities; the property offers incredible scenic diversity. We can use the meticulously maintained green spaces for classic, clean portraits.
But the real highlight of your photo session comes when we step back a little to capture the fields at sunset or the dramatic textures of the stone tower on the estate. It’s the perfect setting for creating images with a powerful editorial impact, ensuring stunning photos without you having to leave your guests for too long.
Frequently Asked Questions:
The Photographer's Perspective
1. Is the tent good for taking photos?
Yes, since it’s glazed, it has the advantage of letting light in until dusk, a detail that helps with the photos.
2. Is the outdoor space large enough for a group photo?
The lawns are spacious, allowing me to step back far enough to fit all your guests into a single photo, with the beauty of the estate and the manor house as a backdrop. Alternatively, we can use the church steps, where it’s also possible to take a photo.
3. And if we don't have a church wedding, is the farm worth it?
Yes, the beauty of the architecture and gardens also makes this the perfect setting for a splendid civil wedding, offering all the benefits of light and space for exceptional photography.
